ARTICLE I - NAME
University of Montana Campus Sangha

ARTICLE II - PURPOSE
Our purpose is to provide a positive and supportive environment for those seeking to better themselves through meditation and / or Buddhist learning and practices.  Such groups do exist off campus, but this would provide more focus on the problems encountered by students / beginners in this practice.  It would also allow for meeting on campus, making practice for most University students much easier.

ARTICLE III - MEMBERSHIP
A.  All people interested in our activities may be members.
B.  To maintain full membership a member must attend an activity of the group at least once per month, or contact the group expressing interest in maintaining their membership.
C.  Rights and privileges of members:  members may attend and invite others to attend all activities of the group.  Members may vote on all issues brought before the group.

ARTICLE IV – MEETINGS
A.  Meetings will be held weekly on campus.  The group will determine Day and time.
B.  To call a special / unscheduled meeting email will be sent out to all active members no later than 2 days before the meeting.

ARTICLE V – EXECUTIVE BOARD
The group will be a pure democracy.  The group will make all decisions by popular vote.  The only position that is to be distinguished from that of all other group members is the Group Spokesman, who will be chosen by the group.

ARTICLE VI – ELECTIONS
Elections will be held for Group Spokesman yearly, in the month of March.  The newly elected Spokesman will take up the position in the beginning of May and will hold it for one year.  If the position of Spokesman is left vacant for any reason a vote will be held as soon as possible to fill the void. 

ARTICLE VII – DUES/FUNDS
Funds will be sought through ASUM, donations by members, and fundraising activities as determined by members.

ARTICLE VIII – COMMITTEES
Committees may be created for special purposes as determined by the group.

ARTICLE IX – AFFILIATIONS
No official affiliations exist at the founding of the group, but all affiliations accepted by majority vote of the group will be disclosed.

ARTICLE X – ADVISOR
The group advisor will be selected by the group, following nominations made by the group.  An advisor should show interest in the activities of the group.  Duties of the advisor will be set by each advisor with the group.

ARTICLE XI – RATIFICATION
This document will be approved by two-thirds vote of the group. 

ARTICLE XII – AMENDMENTS
Amendments may be made when approved by a two-thirds vote of the group.

ARTICLE XIII – BYLAWS or OTHER DOCUMENTS
Any additional rules or regulations may be attached to this document upon approval by two-thirds of the group.
